Project Goals
The goal was to design an intuitive platform that would allow lenders to:
Access real-time, accurate data on merchant stock purchasing patterns.
Confidently extend financing by ensuring funds are used for intended purposes within the supply chain.
Empower financial service providers to reach more small businesses with relevant, sustainable financing options.
Challenges
Data Accessibility: Financial institutions needed a seamless way to access merchant purchasing patterns and transactional data to assess creditworthiness accurately.
Risk Management: Ensuring that the funds provided were used as intended was essential to reduce risks associated with misallocated financing.
User Education: Introducing financial institutions to this innovative data-driven financing method required intuitive design to support an effective learning curve.
Role & Responsibilities
Process
As part of the design team, my responsibilities included:
Conducting user research with financial service providers to understand their pain points in small business financing.
Designing the UI/UX for Gravity’s data sharing and analysis features.
Collaborating closely with developers to ensure data accuracy and security were maintained throughout the user experience.
Research: Through interviews with financial institutions, I identified the need for quick access to purchasing data and safeguards against fund misuse.
Ideation: I created user flows that centered on data accessibility and transparency, focusing on how users could view and interpret data trends easily.
Prototyping: I developed prototypes that highlighted Gravity’s peer-to-peer data sharing capabilities, integrating streamlined data visualization for assessing merchant habits.
User Testing: After initial testing, I refined features such as the data dashboard, which presents actionable insights, and enhanced the usability of fund tracking tools.
